Salary: €1,800 to €2,400 gross per month (depending on experience)

Level of experience: At least 3 years of experience working with in an SQL platform administration role.

Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned platform administrator to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial for providing management, support and upkeep of our clients’ data and analytics platforms and associated software. The selected individual will use their technical expertise, communication, and proactive planning skills to deliver a first-class support to our EU based client.

Batch Oversight and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor and Support: Keep a close eye on daily, weekly, and monthly batch processes. Ensure they run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Health and Performance Optimization: Regularly assess the health and performance of the batch system. Optimize its performance to meet business needs.
  • Route-to-Live Management: Handle both User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production (PROD) deployment planning. Ensure adequate resources are allocated to support demand.
  • Impact Management: Understand the impact of changes (both routine and project-driven) on the platform. Mitigate any disruptions.
  • End User Request Management: Manage incoming requests from end users. Direct them to the appropriate internal or external teams.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide expert guidance to users, addressing their queries and concerns.
  • System Maintenance: Anticipate future demands and adjust system capacity accordingly.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Plan and execute system maintenance, including patching and updates. Align with recommendations from platform and software providers.
  • Data Transfers and Interfaces: Oversee inbound and outbound data transfers and manual interfaces handled by the administration team.
  • Platform Administration Team Leadership: Manage day-to-day priorities for the team. Interact with key stakeholders.
  • Regular Updates: Conduct weekly and monthly meetings with users and project teams. Report on risks and issues as they arise.
  • Performance Optimization: Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Take the lead in fine-tuning system performance to meet SLAs.
  • Thorough Troubleshooting: Utilize debugging tools to address software issues. Conduct in-depth analyses when necessary.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Platform Administration: Track record in SQL based system administration, including monitoring, and maintaining system health. Proficiency in maintaining data integrity, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Route-to-Live Management: Expertise in planning and executing deployments for both User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production (PROD) environments.
  • SQL Systems Support: In-depth understanding of SQL-based data platforms, including database management, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in administering either Windows or Linux-based Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task execution.
  • Security Awareness: Knowledge of security best practices, user access controls, and vulnerability management.
  • Team Management: Ability to lead and coordinate a team effectively, ensuring smooth operations and collaboration.
  • Planning and Prioritization: Ability to outline, prioritize, and execute tasks efficiently. Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
  • Transparency and Accountability: Ensure clear communication about progress, challenges, and adjustments.
  • Client Focus and Communication: Understand client needs and expectations. Provide timely and relevant updates. Clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of SAS 9 platform support or administration.
  • A keen interest in analytics platforms.
